This premium Dunkel is brewed at the secretive Hexennacht Brewery deep in the Bavarian Alps. The unseen craftsmen have created a smooth, dark beer that is evocative of an icy night spent racing through the shadowed forests of Germany, while the silver full moon shines above the treetops. The label features a werewolf soldier clad in the black uniform of an underground squad of insurgents. The werewolf's gun barrel gleams in the moonlight while crouched low among the Wolfsbane, during a tense and breathless moment, while other members of "die Wehrwölfe" (or "Defense Wolves") wait for the signal. On a historical note, the original Werwolf movement was conceived by the German Minister of Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels, as an underground guerrilla force to fight the Allies after the Nazi defeat in Germany. The notion was based roughly on a nationalist novel favored by the Nazis, Hermann Löns' Der Wehrwolf, in which a group of oppressed peasants form a bloodthirsty militia. Related only in general concept, and because uniformed werewolves are cool, the back of this shirt is printed in blue and white, with a white Wehrwolfe Dark logo over the front left pocket.
